What is IP whitelisting?
IP whitelisting (also called an allowlist) means a service only accepts connections from a short list of approved IP addresses. Companies use it to protect databases, admin panels, VPN gateways, cloud dashboards, payment tools and internal apps.
The problem: most home and mobile connections get a new IP address every so often, and a normal shared VPN gives you an address that hundreds of other people use. Neither can be added to an allowlist safely.
How a dedicated IP VPN solves it
With Super VPN you get your own IP address that is assigned only to your account. You connect to our server over an encrypted OpenVPN tunnel and your traffic leaves with that same address every time, whether you are at home, in a hotel or abroad.
You then give that one address to your IT team, hosting provider or the service you need to access, and add it to the allowlist.
Typical uses
- Allowing your address in the firewall of your own web server, database or admin panel
- Reaching company tools that only accept a short list of IP addresses
- Logging in to cloud dashboards, hosting panels and payment tools from changing locations
- Giving freelancers or remote staff one stable address to be approved
- Accessing services restricted to a single country, in a country you choose from the order page
Things to know
Because only you use the address, nobody else can reach a service through your approved IP by accident. Keep your configuration file private: anyone who has it can use the connection.
A dedicated IP is not a replacement for strong passwords and two-step login. Treat it as one extra layer. Each service has its own rules, so confirm with them that an IP from a VPN provider is accepted.
Frequently asked questions
Is the IP address really static?
Yes. The address is assigned to your account and stays the same for as long as you keep your subscription.
Can I choose the country of the IP address?
Yes. Choose your country on the order page before you pay.
Can several people use the same dedicated IP?
Technically yes, but the configuration file works for one connection profile and must be kept private. Ask us in chat if you need it for a team.
